Modular Shelter Solutions Drive Efficiency and Flexibility at Genesis Minerals’ Goldfields Operations
Genesis Minerals Limited, a Western Australian-based gold exploration and development company, is making major headway in the state’s mining sector. With active projects across the Ulysses, Kookynie, and Edjudina Gold Projects, the company is focused on unlocking untapped gold deposits in the Eastern Goldfields region. As operations continue to expand, the need for scalable, durable infrastructure has become increasingly critical.
To meet this demand, Genesis Minerals partnered with DomeShelter Australia to deliver a fit-for-purpose DomeShelter™ Solution for their heavy vehicle workshop and storage needs.
The Challenge
The project required two custom shelters: one to accommodate servicing of the company’s Komatsu HD1500-8 fleet, and another to house tools, PPE, and materials—each needing to be installed on an active site with minimal disruption.
Both shelters had to integrate seamlessly with modified containers and precast concrete footings and slab panels. This construction method eliminated the need for traditional groundworks, giving Genesis a cost-effective, relocatable infrastructure solution. By using precast foundations, the shelters can be moved and reinstalled with ease and avoid the time, cost, and complexity of repeated civil works.
The Heavy Vehicle Workshop needed to provide ample clearance for the Komatsu HD1500s with their tray bodies raised, while still delivering full protection from the elements. The Stores Shelter required seamless integration with four 20-foot containers at the rear, each oriented to open into the central workspace for efficient layout and access.

Outcomes
Efficient Integration
Both shelters were delivered on time and seamlessly integrated into the site infrastructure.
Heavy Vehicle Workshop Shelter
The 21-metre-wide Super-Rise shelter now operates as a fully functional heavy vehicle maintenance bay. It provides ample clearance for Komatsu HD1500 trucks with raised tray bodies, while offering full protection from the elements and maintaining ventilation for a safe and comfortable work environment..
Storage Shelter
The 10m shelter serves as a secure, weatherproof storage area for tools, PPE, and other essential equipment, helping control inventory and streamline daily operations.
Sustainability & Long-Term Use
DomeShelter™ Structures are engineered to be relocatable and reusable, giving Synergy the flexibility needed for their evolving site needs. The durable, recyclable components such as the Armourtex400® tarp also align with long-term sustainability goals.
Impact on Operations
The shelters improved operational efficiency, onsite safety, and supported Genesis Minerals’ sustainability initiatives.
Client Re-engagement
Due to the success of the initial project, Genesis Minerals returned to DomeShelter Australia for more facilities replicating this one for other areas within their operations.
