How many Shelters is too many?
Clearly more than 50 according to the Howard family of Kamarah Piggery at Wannamal, northeast of Gingin.
Starting with eighteen in 2000, an additional twenty-four, 10 x 22 metre Fabric Shelters to house over 6600 pigs were installed in 2017. Additional shelters for load out and workshops are also in place.
The original shelters installed in 2000 have proven their value many times over by withstanding the rigours of nearly two decades of weather and intensive piggery operations without failure.
The Shelters are a cost effective and neat solution. Supported on concrete walls they are light and bright, allow flow through ventilation and are cooler than metal alternatives.
