If we were to write a book titled “Great Shelters of Australia” the huge new structures at Sun Metals in Townsville, Northern Queensland would feature prominently. With quick delivery and easy installation, they provide a textbook example of the many benefits of a DomeShelter™ Container Dome.
Container Dome Shelters for Sun Metals, Townsville
At 30 metres wide and 85 metres long, the two shelters sit side by side on forty-two 40 ft containers making them two of the largest built-in Australia. What’s most remarkable is that from order to installation took just 2 short months. That’s over 5000m2 of shelter, manufactured, delivered and installed in the short time-frame required by the client. Admittedly the team pulled out all stops to make it happen but, one of the key features of DomeShelter™ Container Domes is the speed they can be supplied and installed.
Even at this size, the shelters are built to withstand Category C cyclonic wind-speeds up to 230 kph, which is in accordance with the Australian Wind Code for the Townsville region. The containers are weighted with soil ballast, alleviating the need for structural footings, therefore making it quicker and easier to relocate when required, and alleviating the need for site remediation should the shelters ever be dismantled and relocated.
Quick delivery of Container Domes in Australia and globally
DomeShelter Australia can supply a standard sized Container Dome within weeks, sometimes days of order and delivered to site anywhere in Australia. We also export to over 40 countries worldwide including Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America. Quick delivery, easy installation are the hallmarks of a DomeShelter™ Structure.
Easy installation on-site
Once on-site they can be installed by the client’s own teams or an expert team from DomeShelter Australia can be contracted for larger and more complex projects, like the Sun Metals project. Years of experience have seen the installation instructions supplied with every shelter refined to the point where they are now about as easy as they can get. Feedback from clients attests to that and continuous satisfaction surveys rate the ease of installation very highly.
